Friday’s Ligue 1 action features an exciting clash between Lyon and Angers SCO. ‘Les Gones’ started the season brilliantly, winning 3-0 away from home against Monaco. The victory was secured for Lyon since Cesc Fabregas got a red card in the 30th minute. In my opinion, Lyon is yet to show its full potential. Against Monaco, ‘Les Gones’ were straightforward in their performance, scoring three goals with three shots on target.
Angers SCO also started the season with three points, winning 3-1 at home against FC Girondins de Bordeaux. All of the goals were scored in the first half after a brilliant performance from the hosts. Angers SCO outplayed Bordeaux and attempted six shots from ‘The Girondins’ penalty box.
In recent years, the fixtures between Lyon and Angers SCO are not short of goals, and I don’t expect a different outcome on Friday. Many assume that ‘Les Scoïstes’ will impress this season and they have already shown that against Bordeaux.
In the same time, it is very tough to judge Lyon’s performance against Monaco. However, looking at their home games in 2019, I expect that both sides will score on Friday. Lyon have kept just one clean sheet in front of their fans since January, while Angers SCO will be inspired by their performance against ‘The Girondins’.
