Sunday’s French Ligue 1 action features an exciting clash between Rennes and PSG. Both sides have started the new season with a game for Super Cup of France. The match was in Shenzhen, and Rennes scored the first goal. However, after the break, PSG made a full comeback and lifted the trophy after a 2-1 victory. Now, two weeks later, both sides again will face each other but this time for Ligue 1.
Rennes started the new campaign with success, despite the problematic visit that they had. ‘The Red and Blacks’ had to travel to Montpellie and kept the early goal advantage until the end of the game. The club allowed 24 shots, survived after a penalty and played with one player fewer more than 20 minutes. On the other hand, PSG had an easy fixture at home against Nimes. The three points went for ‘The Parisians’ after goals by Kylian Mbappé, Edinson Cavani and Ángel Di María.
The future of Neymar as a player of PSG is in significant doubt. However, ‘The Parisians’ have an excellent squad, full of quality players. For this reason, I expect the defending champions to score before and after the break.
