Singapore — Last 6 matches
Bangladesh — Last 6 matches

Singapore come into this AFC Asian Cup qualifier with a strong case for taking control at home. They have won five of their last six in all competitions, and their 2-1 win in Hong Kong on 18 November came with enough control in the key moments to suggest they can manage a similar fixture again. Bangladesh are not travelling badly in the sense of recent results, but their away draw at Hong Kong was followed by a narrow defeat in the first meeting with Singapore, so this is not a trip that points towards a visiting upset.

The goal profile also leans toward the hosts. Singapore have gone seven straight matches without a clean sheet, and both teams have scored in all seven of those games, so they are rarely shutting opponents out even when they win. At the same time, six of their last seven have finished with more than 2.5 goals, which fits the 2-1 type of game the numbers are hinting at. Bangladesh’s recent matches have also been open enough to keep Singapore honest, with the 1-1 draw in Hong Kong and the 3-4 loss at home to the same opponent showing they can be involved in lively contests.

Singapore’s last home outing in this qualification campaign was a 1-1 draw with India on 9 October, so there is a small reminder that they do not always turn territory into a clean win. Even so, their away victory over Bangladesh in June 2025 gives them a useful head-to-head edge, and the attacking output has been steadier than Bangladesh’s across the last few months. Bangladesh’s 1-0 win over India in November was a positive response, but it came from a low xG game and does not erase the shakier pattern that has shown up in their away results.

My prediction is Home Win at 1/2. Singapore have already beaten Bangladesh 2-1 in this qualification group, they have won five of their last six matches, and their recent scoring run should be enough to trouble a Bangladesh side that has been inconsistent away from home. The slight caution is that Singapore have not kept a clean sheet in seven straight games, so a narrow win looks more likely than anything comfortable.

Singapore to win 2-1 at 1/2 is the pick. The hosts have the better recent form, they took the first head-to-head meeting in June 2025, and Bangladesh’s away draws and narrow losses suggest they can compete without quite doing enough to take points.
