Al-Nassr — Last 6 matches
Al-Ettifaq — Last 6 matches

Al-Nassr welcome Al-Ettifaq to Riyadh on Wednesday evening in the Saudi Pro League, and the gap between the two clubs gives this one a pretty clear shape. Jorge Jesus’ side are top of the table, already sitting on 73 points and miles ahead in the title race, while Al-Ettifaq arrive in seventh on 42 points, still respectable but a long way from the pace at the very top. One team are chasing silverware and a clean finish. The other are trying to spoil the party and keep their own season respectable.

There’s still plenty on the line. Al-Nassr’s grip on first place has been built on a relentless run, a ruthless attack and a home record that most teams in the league would kill for. Al-Ettifaq, under Saad Ali Al Shehri, have enough quality to make life awkward, but their away numbers and recent wobble suggest they’re walking into a difficult evening. This is the kind of fixture where the leaders are expected to dominate, yet the visitors have enough individual threat to keep the scoreline honest.

That tension is what makes the betting angle simple enough. Al-Nassr should control territory, chances and tempo. The real question is whether Al-Ettifaq can do enough at the other end to drag the game into a lively scoreline. They’ve got the attacking pieces to ask questions. They’ve also got a back line that’s been far too generous.

Al-Nassr Form & Analysis

Al-Nassr are coming in with a proper steamroller feel about them. Their last six league matches have all ended in victory, and the pattern is familiar by now: they score early, they keep pushing, and they rarely give the game any breathing space. The latest was a routine-looking 2-0 away win at Al-Okhdood on 11 April, a match they controlled from the first half through Cristiano Ronaldo’s opener and João Félix’s goal after the break. Before that, they battered Al-Najma SC 5-2 at home, then went to Al-Khaleej and blew them away 5-0. That’s not a team scraping by. That’s a team with momentum and a punch.

The home work has been just as convincing. At their own ground, Al-Nassr have 12 wins, no draws and only one defeat, with 38 goals scored and just 10 conceded. That’s the kind of record that turns every home fixture into a problem for the visitor. They don’t merely win in Riyadh; they usually win on their terms. Even the tighter matches have tended to tilt their way, like the 1-0 victory over Neom SC, where they kept their shape and waited for the decisive moment. Three goals, five goals, one goal, five goals — the range is there, but the outcome is usually the same. Al-Nassr keep coming.

What stands out most is the balance. They’ve got the league’s best defence on overall numbers — only 21 goals conceded in 28 matches — and they’re scoring at a rate that makes almost every opposing back line feel underpowered before kick-off. The most recent xG figure away at Al-Okhdood was 2.49, with 20 shots, seven on target and five big chances. That’s not a fluke. It’s a team creating clean looks and converting enough of them. Six wins from six in the last run, 16 unbeaten since the loss to Al-Hilal in January, and a home record that barely leaves room for doubt. That’s the picture.

Al-Ettifaq Form & Analysis

Al-Ettifaq, by contrast, have been living a much messier life. Their last six league games tell a blunt story: one win, one draw and four defeats, with the defeats often coming in games they’ve had chances to influence. The most recent setback was a 3-2 home loss to Al-Riyadh on 9 April. They scored first through Georginio Wijnaldum, stayed in the contest and even found another goal late through Mamadou Sylla, but they never got control of the game. Before that, they beat Al-Qadsiah 3-2 at home in a breathless contest, which showed they can hurt teams. The problem is what happens when the game turns open. They usually get hurt back.

Their away record tells the same story with less varnish. Five wins, one draw and seven defeats on the road is not disastrous, but the goals figure is a warning sign: only 16 scored and 26 conceded away from home. That’s a poor attacking return for a side sitting seventh and it leaves them over-reliant on narrow margins. You can see the pattern in the results. A 1-0 loss at Al-Fayha. A 3-1 defeat at Al-Hazem. A 4-0 hammering at Al-Qadsiah. When they travel and lose control, they tend to lose it properly.

Still, they’re not without a route into this match. Al-Ettifaq have scored in enough games to stay dangerous, and their recent home fightback against Al-Qadsiah showed some edge in the final third. Wijnaldum, Leandro Antunes and Mamadou Sylla all found the net against Al-Riyadh, which tells you they can spread the load. But that attack is carrying too much pressure because the defence is leaking almost every time they step up a level. Eight matches without a clean sheet is a stubborn little streak, and against Al-Nassr that’s a problem. A big one.

Head-to-Head

These two have already produced some lively meetings, and the recent record leans towards goals rather than caution. Their last eight clashes include a 2-2 draw at Al-Ettifaq in December 2025, a 3-2 win for Al-Ettifaq at Al-Nassr in February 2025, and a 3-0 away win for Al-Nassr in September 2024. That’s the sort of sequence that keeps both camps on edge. Nobody’s really been able to dictate this fixture for long.

The broader pattern is just as telling. Goals have been a regular feature, with over 2.5 landing in five of the last seven meetings, and Al-Nassr have a habit of scoring first in this matchup. That matters here. If the hosts get in front early, the game can open up fast. And if it does, Al-Ettifaq’s shaky away defending could be in for a rough night.

We Predict: Over 3.5 Goals

We’re backing Over 3.5 Goals at 4/7 here, and that price looks fair for a fixture with this kind of shape. Al-Nassr are scoring freely, especially at home, and Al-Ettifaq are one of those sides that can contribute to a high total even when they’re beaten. Their last few games have been full of incidents, and the away defence simply doesn’t look sturdy enough to survive 90 minutes against the league leaders.

The cleanest read is a 3-1 Al-Nassr win. That fits the balance of the game nicely: the hosts carry the heavier attacking load, Al-Ettifaq nick one at some point, and the leaders still finish the job. If you wanted a different route in, Al-Nassr to win and both teams to score is the natural alternative. But the total goals angle feels strongest. This one should have a few in it.
