Match form loads a moment after the page opens so the main prediction can appear first; recent results are fetched right after.

Girona FC — Last 6 matches
Villarreal — Last 6 matches

Both Teams To Score is driven mainly by Villarreal’s recent profile. They have seen both teams score in each of their last five league matches, and that run includes goals conceded against Real Sociedad, Alavés, Elche and Barcelona as well as regular scoring of their own. Marcelino’s side have still taken ten points from those five games, but they have not been shutting opponents out.

Girona bring enough attacking evidence to support the same market even with mixed recent form. They have two wins, two draws and two defeats from their last six league matches, and they scored in five of those six games. At home they beat Athletic Club 3-0 and Barcelona 2-1, while even their 2-1 loss to Celta Vigo and 2-2 draw at Alavés fit the case for both sides getting on the scoresheet.

There is one obvious concern for the bet: Girona’s most recent match was a flat 0-1 defeat at Osasuna on 21 March, where they produced only 0.2 xG, managed five shots and failed to record a single effort on target. Villarreal, though, went the other way in their latest outing, beating Real Sociedad 3-1 with 3.7 xG, 21 shots and eight big chances, which keeps the expectation of an away goal high even if Girona are not especially convincing.

The projected numbers point more toward a narrow scorer on each side than a wide-open game. An xG line of 1.2 for Girona and 1.4 for Villarreal, plus the 1-1 correct-score lean, is not explosive enough to scream overs, but it does sit neatly with Both Teams To Score. One head-to-head note also helps: Girona have not kept a clean sheet in the last ten meetings between these clubs.

My prediction is Both Teams To Score at 1.57. Villarreal have landed this in five straight league games, Girona have scored in five of their last six league matches, Villarreal have conceded in each of their last five, and the xG projection still gives both teams a realistic route to a goal even with a modest 1-1 type outlook.
