Our BTTS and Win Tips combine two markets into one selection: Both Teams To Score and a specific team to win the match. Because both conditions must land, the odds are usually much higher than standard BTTS or match result bets on their own – often in the 2.50 to 4.00 range, and sometimes bigger in the right matchup.
This is one of our favourite combination markets when the data points to an open game, but one side still holds a clear quality edge. It is riskier than a standard BTTS tip or a simple single bet of the day, but the extra return can make it worthwhile when the right match appears.

How BTTS and Win Works
A BTTS and Win bet needs three things to happen:
- The home team scores at least once
- The away team scores at least once
- Your selected team wins the match
A 2-1, 3-1, or 3-2 win for your team lands the bet. A 2-2 draw loses because your team did not win. A 1-0 or 2-0 win also loses because both teams did not score.
This is why BTTS and Win is sometimes called a two-step wager or a combination market. It sits between a conventional bet and a higher-risk special market: you are backing a match result, but also demanding a goal from the losing side.
BTTS and Win Example
Liverpool vs Newcastle – BTTS and Liverpool Win at odds 2.80
- Liverpool 3-1 Newcastle ✓ (Both scored, Liverpool won)
- Liverpool 2-0 Newcastle ✗ (Newcastle did not score)
- Liverpool 2-2 Newcastle ✗ (Draw, not a Liverpool win)
- Newcastle 2-1 Liverpool ✗ (Both scored, but the wrong team won)
Why Use BTTS and Win Instead of BTTS Alone?
BTTS and Win is useful when you think both teams will score, but you also believe one side is clearly more likely to take the points. In those situations, it can offer stronger value than backing BTTS Yes on its own.
Main advantages of BTTS and Win bets:
- Higher odds: Better returns than standard BTTS or simple match result bets
- Good fit for favourites with leaky defences: Especially teams that win often but do not keep many clean sheets
- Stronger value in the right matchups: When the favourite should win, but a consolation goal is very live
- Works well in singles or small accumulators: Especially when you want a more aggressive football betting angle
The trade-off is obvious: the market is more demanding, so the strike rate is lower than a standard BTTS selection or straight match winner.
Our Selection Criteria
BTTS and Win requires a match to meet both our BTTS criteria and our match result criteria. That makes it a narrower market with fewer qualifying matches.
BTTS requirements:
- Both teams expected 2+ big chances
- Both teams expected 1.2+ xG
- Both teams carrying real scoring threat in the current matchup
Plus match result requirements:
- The selected team expected to create significantly more big chances
- A clear edge in underlying odds and matchup quality
- Better recent form against similar-strength opponents
- Team news that supports the favourite rather than weakening it
This combined threshold means there are far fewer BTTS and Win candidates than standard BTTS picks. We only use it when the favourite should still win, even if they are likely to concede.
What We Look for in BTTS and Win Predictions
The best BTTS and Win predictions often come from matches where one team is stronger overall, but the weaker side still has enough attacking quality to score.
We pay close attention to:
- Goals scored and conceded stats
- Big chances for and against
- Non-penalty xG trends
- Head-to-head patterns where still relevant
- Home and away splits
- Current form in comparable fixtures
- Team news and likely lineups
That is especially important in away games and derby-type fixtures, where the stronger team may still be favoured but the weaker team is much more likely to find a goal.
Risk vs Reward
| Market | Typical Odds | Requirements |
|---|---|---|
| BTTS Yes | 1.70 | Both teams score |
| Home Win | 1.80 | Home team wins |
| BTTS + Home Win | 3.20 | Both score + Home wins |
The combined market offers a higher payout than either component on its own, but naturally comes with increased risk. That is what makes it attractive to some bettors and unsuitable for others.
If you prefer safer football betting tips, a standard BTTS Yes, single bet, or even double chance market may be a better fit.
Best Scenarios for BTTS and Win
We reserve BTTS and Win for match profiles where the favourite should score enough to win, but is also likely to allow the underdog at least one good route to goal.
- Strong home favourite with a leaky defence: A team that scores freely but rarely keeps clean sheets
- Big six vs attacking mid-table side: The stronger side should win, but the underdog still has a real scoring chance
- Derbies with a quality gap: Open games where both score, but one team is still more likely to edge it
- Favourite likely to concede a consolation goal: Especially in high-tempo matches where game state stays open late on
When to Avoid
- Tight matches between evenly matched teams – draw risk is too high
- Games where the favourite keeps clean sheets regularly
- Cup ties with heavy rotation
- Low-tempo tactical matchups
- Fixtures where the underdog creates very little against stronger sides
BTTS and Win Accumulators
BTTS and Win can work well in accumulators, but they need to be handled carefully because the strike rate is lower than a standard BTTS acca or match-winner accumulator. One or two well-chosen selections can create strong combined odds, but a larger BTTS and Win accumulator quickly becomes too ambitious.
That is why we usually prefer:
- Smart singles in this market
- Small doubles when two matches clearly qualify
- Mixed accas combining BTTS and Win with lower-risk selections
If multiples are your main focus, our accumulator tips, football treble tips, and guide to what an acca bet is are the best next steps.
Strategies for BTTS and Win Betting
The key to this market is not just spotting goals. It is spotting matches where both teams should score, but one side still has a clear enough edge to win.
Simple strategy rules:
- Do not force this bet just because the odds look attractive
- Check whether the stronger side actually wins enough of these open matches
- Look for favourites who concede chances but still dominate attacking output
- Avoid teams that rely too heavily on clean sheets to win
- Compare the BTTS and Win price with the separate BTTS and match-result prices before betting
In many cases, this is one of the best football betting tips for matches where a straight home win feels too short, but BTTS alone feels too low-value.
Daily BTTS and Win Tips and Predictions
Our BTTS and Win tips are updated as part of the daily football content on the site. They appear less often than standard BTTS picks because the qualification criteria are tighter, but when they do appear, they are usually among the stronger higher-odds selections on the card.

Where to Place BTTS and Win Bets
bet365 offers BTTS and Win as a single market selection, so you do not need to build it manually with separate bets:
- 2 Goals Ahead Early Payout: If your team goes 2-0 up, the match result side may pay early, though the BTTS part still needs the opponent to score for the combined market to land
- Cash Out: Useful if your team is winning but the opponent has not scored yet
- Combined market pricing: Lets you compare the packaged odds against separate BTTS and result options
If bookmaker features matter to you, it is also worth comparing best betting sites for accumulators, live betting sites, and safe betting sites.
Advantages and Considerations of BTTS and Win Bets
BTTS and Win is popular because it offers a middle ground between standard football betting and long-shot specials. It can deliver higher returns than a conventional bet, but it also carries more conditions and more ways to lose.
Main advantages:
- Higher odds than BTTS or straight match result
- Good fit for open games with a clear stronger side
- Can be stronger value than backing both components separately
- Works well as a selective higher-odds market
Main considerations:
- Increased risk compared with BTTS alone
- Draws kill the bet even if both teams score
- Clean-sheet wins also lose
- Requires tighter match selection and better discipline
It is best treated as a selective market, not one to force every day.
BTTS and Win FAQ
Sometimes. Bookmakers price BTTS and Win as a single market, which can differ from simply multiplying the separate BTTS and match-result prices. It is always worth comparing before placing the bet.
The bet loses. Both teams must score for the BTTS part to land, even though your team won the match.
The bet loses. BTTS is only one half of the requirement. Your selected team must also win the match.
Usually as a single or small double. Because it is already a demanding combination market, large accumulators become very hard to land.
Exactly the same logic applies. You can back BTTS and the away team to win, but the away side must win the match and both teams must score.
