Alemannia Aachen — Last 6 matches
VfB Stuttgart II U21 — Last 6 matches

Alemannia Aachen host VfB Stuttgart II U21 in 3. Liga on Saturday afternoon, 11 April 2026, with both sides still chasing a stronger finish to the season. Aachen sit 8th on 48 points, which leaves them in a respectable mid-table position, while Stuttgart II are 13th on 42 and still trying to put daylight between themselves and the lower half. There’s no promotion drama here, but there is pride, momentum and a decent amount to play for. That tends to sharpen things up.

Aachen come into it as one of the division’s hotter sides, unbeaten in six and riding a six-game run without defeat. Stuttgart II are a little less settled, but they’ve shown enough attacking punch to make this anything but routine. The two clubs have also developed a habit of producing open games when they meet. You don’t need much encouragement to expect goals here.

Alemannia Aachen Form & Analysis

Aachen’s recent run has been clean and convincing. They held 1. FC Saarbrücken to a 1-1 draw away on 8 April, having already put together a run of wins that started with a 3-0 home job against SV Wehen Wiesbaden, then a 2-1 away victory at FC Ingolstadt 04. Before that came a 4-1 home win over Energie Cottbus, a 3-1 success at Erzgebirge Aue and a 1-0 home defeat of 1. FC Schweinfurt 05. That’s not just a useful sequence. It’s a proper surge.

There’s a clear pattern in there too. Aachen are finding ways to score first and then stay on top of matches, which matters when you’re backing them to control games at home. They’ve scored 57 league goals overall, more than a few teams above them, and while their defence hasn’t been watertight — 52 conceded in total — they’ve been doing enough at the sharp end to keep the pressure off. Their latest draw at Saarbrücken was a decent point, especially with Kaan Caliskaner sent off after 51 minutes. They still found an equaliser through Florian Pick on 81 minutes. That says a fair bit about their resilience.

At home, though, they haven’t been all that tidy. Their ground record reads six wins, one draw and eight defeats, with 22 scored and 26 conceded. That’s a strange split for an 8th-placed side. They’re clearly more dangerous than the numbers at home suggest, but they’ve also given opponents far too many openings. Even so, the recent home form has improved sharply. The 3-0 against Wehen and the 4-1 against Cottbus were the kind of results that tell you Aachen are happy to turn games into open contests when they’ve got the upper hand. And once they get ahead, they usually keep pushing.

VfB Stuttgart II U21 Form & Analysis

Stuttgart II arrive with a more uneven story, even if their recent results aren’t short on goals. They drew 1-1 at home to SSV Ulm 1846 on 8 April, having beaten SSV Jahn Regensburg 3-1 three days earlier. Before that came a 3-1 defeat away to 1. FC Schweinfurt 05, a 1-0 home win over TSG Hoffenheim II U23, a 2-1 loss at SV Wehen Wiesbaden and a 2-1 home defeat to Energie Cottbus. There’s a familiar theme there. They can score. They can also lose games that feel very winnable.

That’s the problem with Stuttgart II. They’re lively enough going forward, but the balance isn’t right. They’ve scored 40 goals in the league, which is only modest for a side that’s spent plenty of time in games where they’ve had chances. The defensive side has been shakier still, with 51 conceded overall and 30 of those coming away from home. That away record is a warning sign all by itself: four wins, three draws and nine defeats, with 17 goals scored and 30 conceded. On the road, they’ve been too easy to play through.

Mind you, they don’t go quietly. Their recent away defeats at Schweinfurt and Wehen both came in games where they found the net, and that’s part of the reason this fixture leans towards goals rather than control. They’re not the sort to park the bus and pray. Nico Willig’s side have enough attacking threat to nick a goal, maybe even two if Aachen switch off, but the back line keeps inviting trouble. You can see why they’re sitting in 13th rather than climbing.

Head-to-Head

These two have produced lively meetings for a while now, and the recent record is firmly in favour of Aachen. The reverse fixture in November 2025 ended 3-1 to Alemannia in Stuttgart, while Aachen also beat them 2-1 at home in December 2024. Stuttgart did edge a 2-1 win in May 2025, so this isn’t a one-sided rivalry, but the broader pattern is clear enough. Aachen have had the upper hand more often than not.

The bigger point is the nature of those games. They haven’t been cagey. The last five meetings have all gone over 2.5 goals, and both teams have scored in every one of those five. That’s a strong historical marker for a match that already looks open on current form. You’d be brave to expect a tight, low-tempo affair here.

We Predict: Over 2.5 Goals

We’re backing Over 2.5 Goals at 4/7 for this one. It’s the cleanest angle on the board. Aachen are in a rich scoring run, Stuttgart II keep finding the net even when they lose, and both sides have shown plenty of defensive fragility over the course of the season. That combination is hard to ignore.

Aachen’s home matches haven’t been short on incident, Stuttgart’s away games have a similar habit, and the recent head-to-head record has been relentlessly open. Five straight meetings with both teams scoring and five straight landing over 2.5 goals? That’s not noise. That’s a pattern. A 2-1 Aachen win feels about right, with the hosts’ stronger form just tipping the balance.

If you want a small alternative, Both Teams to Score would also make sense. Still, the goal line is the stronger play.
