Hull City — Last 6 matches
Coventry City — Last 6 matches

Hull City come into Monday night’s game with mixed home form, having won three, drawn one and lost two of their last six league matches overall. Their most recent outing finished 1-1 at Oxford United, but that came after a 3-1 home win over Sheffield Wednesday, and their home record of 32 goals scored and 32 conceded in 20 Championship matches points to regular action at both ends.

Coventry City are in stronger shape, with five wins from their last six league games and 84 goals scored against 42 conceded overall. They have also scored in all but one of those recent matches, including the 3-2 home win over Derby County and the 3-0 away success at Swansea City, while their away record of 41 goals scored in 20 matches shows they travel with enough attacking threat to trouble Hull.

This fixture has also leaned toward goals for both sides in recent meetings. Six of the last seven head-to-heads have finished with Both Teams To Score landing, and the last three league meetings at Hull produced scores of 1-1, 1-1 and 3-2, which fits the idea that each side can find a way through here.

Hull’s own recent run is another point in the same direction, with both teams scoring in four of their last five matches and their unbeaten home win over Sheffield Wednesday followed by a 1-1 draw at Oxford. Coventry are less secure at the back than their league position suggests on a game-to-game basis, while Hull have scored in enough home games to keep this market live despite the visitors’ stronger overall numbers.

My prediction is Both Teams To Score at 8/13. Hull have seen Both Teams To Score in four of their last five, Coventry have scored in six straight league games, and the head-to-head also brings six BTTS results from the last seven. The projected 1-2 scoreline still fits both sides getting on the board, even if Coventry look the more likely winners.
