Match form loads a moment after the page opens so the main prediction can appear first; recent results are fetched right after.

Dunfermline Athletic — Last 6 matches
Greenock Morton — Last 6 matches

Dunfermline Athletic come into this one unbeaten in six league matches, with four wins and two draws in that spell, and they have scored at least twice in five of those games. Their most recent outing ended 2-2 at Ross County, while the home results before that included 3-0 wins over Raith Rovers and Ross County, so they are carrying steady attacking momentum into Saturday evening.

Greenock Morton have been more uneven, but they arrive off a 2-1 home win over Arbroath and an away victory at Ayr United, which shows they can still find a goal on the road. Even so, their away record of three wins, six draws and six defeats, along with 23 goals conceded in those trips, leaves them vulnerable if Dunfermline keep the same tempo they have shown at home.

For a Both Teams To Score angle, the numbers are fairly supportive. Dunfermline have conceded in both of their last two league games, while Morton have scored in four of their last five Championship matches. The season averages also point to a fairly even scoring environment here, with Dunfermline’s home xG and Morton’s away xG sitting at levels that are close enough to keep both sides in the contest.

There is one small caveat: the head-to-head has a recent tendency to stay tighter, with Dunfermline and Morton going under 2.5 goals in seven of their last eight meetings. That does not rule out goals at both ends, though, especially with Dunfermline’s current run producing regular scoring and Morton having found the net in recent away games.

My prediction is Both Teams To Score at 5/6. Dunfermline have scored in each of their last six league matches, Morton have scored in four of their last five Championship games, and both sides have been involved in enough open scorelines recently to support a goal for each team. The 1-1 projection also fits the pattern, even if the recent head-to-head record does lean a little toward lower scores.
