Match form loads a moment after the page opens so the main prediction can appear first; recent results are fetched right after.

FC Spartak Trnava — Last 6 matches
FK Železiarne Podbrezová — Last 6 matches

FC Spartak Trnava come into this Championship Round meeting with one win and five losses in their last six, but the home numbers are more relevant for a match result call than the raw run. At their own ground they have six wins, one draw and four defeats in league play, scoring 15 and conceding 12, which is steady enough to give them a real edge here.

FK Železiarne Podbrezová’s away record is less convincing for this sort of test. They have four wins, two draws and seven losses on the road, and their recent league form has slipped into four defeats from their last four competitive outings. That kind of stretch leaves little room for comfort, especially against a side that has already beaten them 3-1 in December and 2-1 at this ground last season.

The head-to-head also leans Trnava’s way more often than not in the league, with Spartak taking two of the last three league meetings and winning both home fixtures mentioned in that sequence. Podbrezová have caused damage in the cup and in the 5-0 league result in February, so there is some tension in the matchup, but the balance of recent league evidence still points toward the home side being more reliable over 90 minutes.

Spartak’s latest league performance was a narrow 1-0 loss at Michalovce, but their xG of 1.4 and 17 shots suggest they still created enough to threaten. Podbrezová arrive off a 2-0 defeat at Slovan Bratislava, where they allowed five big chances, and they have now gone four league matches without a win. Against a home team with a stronger league position and better home return, that is not a comfortable platform for the visitors.

My prediction is Home Win at 3/4. Spartak’s home record is solid enough, Podbrezová’s away return is weaker, and the visitors have lost four in a row in competitive football. The recent league head-to-head also tilts toward Trnava, while Podbrezová’s defensive numbers on the road do not inspire much confidence in holding out.
