Match form loads a moment after the page opens so the main prediction can appear first; recent results are fetched right after.

Shanghai Port — Last 6 matches
Yunnan Yukun — Last 6 matches

Shanghai Port come into this fixture with mixed recent league form, having taken one win and two losses from their last three Chinese Super League games. The home split is more encouraging for goals, though, with five scored and three conceded across two league matches at their own ground, which is enough to keep an over line in play.

Yunnan Yukun have been lively in attack as well, scoring eight and conceding three in their first three league outings. Their away record is still short of convincing, but the 2-1 defeat at Henan and the overall balance of chances in recent games suggest they are capable of contributing to a higher total rather than sitting in a low-scoring pattern.

Recent scoring trends also lean toward goals. Shanghai Port’s last home league win finished 4-1, while Yunnan Yukun have already produced a 4-0 victory and a 3-1 win this season. The head-to-head meetings were both high-scoring too, ending 4-2 in Shanghai and 3-2 in Yunnan, so there is clear evidence that these two can push games past the two-goal mark.

The only slight caveat is Shanghai Port’s 0-1 loss at Dalian Yingbo FC and the 0-0 results they posted in continental competition, but those were away from home or in a different competition. At league level, both sides have been involved in open matches, and Yunnan Yukun’s away numbers are still thin enough to stop this from looking like a classic cagey travel fixture.

My prediction is Over 2.5 Goals at 11/25. Shanghai Port have already been involved in a 4-1 league home game, Yunnan Yukun have seen three of their four Chinese Super League matches land above 2.5 goals, and the two recent head-to-head meetings finished with six and five goals. Shanghai Port’s home record of five scored and three conceded also fits a match where three goals is a realistic target, even if the projected 2-1 scoreline leaves little margin.
