Match form loads a moment after the page opens so the main prediction can appear first; recent results are fetched right after.

Maringá FC — Last 6 matches
Ferroviária — Last 6 matches

Maringá FC come into the opener with a useful home edge and a recent habit of finding a breakthrough first, winning four of their last six in all competitions and scoring in five of those six. Their 3-0 league win over Caxias and 1-0 home success against Retrô sit alongside a 3-2 cup victory over Uberlândia, so their recent results have been strong enough to support a home favouritism case rather than a cautious one.

Ferroviária arrive with a very different profile, having gone nine matches without a win and losing their last three away games. The most recent trip to Operário-PR ended in a 2-1 defeat, but the underlying numbers were less flattering still, with just 0.6 xG and 1.99 against, only one shot on target and no big chances created. That kind of away output is not ideal for a side expected to travel well.

Goals should still be in the conversation because both teams have shown enough attacking intent to trouble the other, but Maringá’s home form makes the home side the clearer angle. Ferroviária have conceded in each of their last three away matches, while Maringá’s recent league and cup games have regularly landed on the right side of the scoreboard for them. The head-to-head history also leans their way, with Maringá unbeaten in three meetings with Ferroviária.

There is a little tension around the projected scoreline because Ferroviária did score in their latest away loss and Maringá were beaten 1-0 by Goiás in their last outing, so a completely comfortable home win is not the only possible script. Even so, the visitors’ longer winless run and poor away performance carry more weight here, especially against a Maringá side that has been more productive at home and has often scored first.

My prediction is Home Win at 23/20. Maringá have won four of their last six, they are unbeaten in three straight meetings with Ferroviária, and Ferroviária are winless in nine with three consecutive away defeats. Maringá’s recent home results have been stronger, while Ferroviária’s latest away performance produced just 0.6 xG and one shot on target, which is a poor platform for taking points on the road.
